A picture's worth a thousand words

It's been a while since I've posted, but I think I'm back on track now -- today, though, I'm sort of cheating. First, this has nothing to do with either writing or romance, despite Macy's suggestion of a hero during part one of the episode .....

Two weeks ago, I took my car into the shop to have the brakes checked ... which turned into having lots of parts of the brakes replaced. Which was good, actually, since it was a hell of a lot better than having them go out on the road or something (I mostly do city driving -- lots of traffic -- and the weekend before had driven down to West Palm).

But then came last week. Brakes happily repaired ... apparently the gods thought I needed a new car before my planned timetable, because last Sunday night or early Monday morning, my car was stolen. Yes, the same one that had just eaten several hundred dollars the week prior. The car was found the same day, but it looked like this:

Only the outside body parts (literally, anything you can't see here!) were taken -- all the engine parts were still there. Oh, and someone took the knob off the gear shift, and -- the kicker -- my cell phone charger (no, seriously, how random is that?).

I'm almost entirely into "this was a good thing" space now, thanks to a couple of friends in particular who told me why they felt it was a positive shock (thanks to M and M for that). And my dad, who reminded me that karma's a bitch ... (actually, he put it somewhat more gracefully).

Hopefully life will be at the new normal in a couple of days ...

Also remember, if it doesn't kill us, it makes us stronger. You get lots of added strength for this one!

We had a car stolen off the dealership lot while it was in for a minor repair. I think they found it 6 months later--or was it a year. Yet getting the dealership to settle was a major pain. They were very proud to tell us that from that day forth, they would no longer leave the keys IN THE CAR!!!

Just try not to buy one on the top ten for parts list.

Sorry that you had to go through that. but I can only tell you it happened for a reason. do you think it was to fuel the economy? Just kidding another one of my Bush conspiracy theories.

I hope a lovely new car is in your near future - one you get for a steal (Sorry for that!) I agree that things happen for a reason.
LOL on the conspiracy comment, Chudney!

Your new car is going to be so fabulous that this incident will just be fodder for one of your stories :) And you're right, karma is a bitch and I freaking love her for it!!

Chudney -- if I was giving away prizes, you'd get one! Terry, you get one too -- who was the dealer? I want to know who NOT to work with! Although, if they learned their lesson .....

New car is an Altima. I don't think they're racing those ....
